There's a lot that can be implied from this two-page spread - the buildings in the foreground are very tidy and up-kept, with greenhouses on pretty much all rooftops. However, there is the suggestion of somewhat short-means for all, at least in material goods, by the bedraggledness of the fabric awnings on the buildings in back. In the far background is what looks like a wasteland - the fallen skeletons of high-rise buildings suggest some kind of apocalypse. war, perhaps? which is in the relatively recent past.
Love the colors on these pages. This page in particular now has me wondering if this world doesn't have many adults?
